How XchangeIQ checks a chemical

Every answer comes from an official list or a recognised database, with the source and its date shown under the answer. Nothing is guessed: where we have no data, we say so.

What the labels mean

OK
Nothing in the lists we check stands in the way.
CHECK
Allowed, but with a licence, registration, limit, condition or extra duty.
STOP
Banned, prohibited or tightly controlled (for example a banned pesticide or an NDPS substance).
NO DATA
Not confirmed either way. Ask an expert before you trade.

How a check works

  1. Identify the chemical. A name, trade name or CAS number is matched to one compound in a local copy of PubChem (one million compounds); salts are matched to their parent where a rule covers the parent.
  2. Match it against each list. By CAS number first, then by structure (for families such as PFAS or CFCs), then by exact name. Tariff lines are found by the Customs Tariff's own wording and chapter notes.
  3. Answer each question in plain words, with the rule, the source and its date. The overall verdict is the most serious label among the cards.
